Owner profile Nick-Miller

Director and owner of Imperial Homes, Nick has been in the building industry since 1985. Growing up he spent much of his holidays on job sites working with his many uncles.

He obtained his full house builders license in 1991. After completing the first year of his apprenticeship in Sydney at TAFE, Nick won the prestigous apprentice of the year award for his district. He went on to work in Port Macquarie with one of his uncles in the building industry. Being a relatively small construction company he was fortunate to be exposed to many different facets of the construction industry early in his career – from digging the footings to pitching a roof by hand and even laying the turf at the end of the project.

After completing his apprenticeship Nick moved to Brisbane and worked as a quantity surveyor estimator for one of Brisbane’s major builders. However, building being in his blood, Nick preferred the more hands one side of the business. After dabbling in carpentry and then spec building, he started Nick Miller Homes in 1995. Since then, he established a reputation as one of the most well respected builders in the Brisbane Redlands area.

The company changed its name to Imperial Homes Qld in 2003 to reflect its growing operation and position in the marketplace as much more than a ‘one-man band’, but a multi-faceted partnership of staff and sub-contractors.
